Gerst Haus Evansville

This is a collection of pics from of a few of my trips to the Gerst Bavarian Haus. I try to stop here almost every trip to Evansville. I hope you enjoy

one of the best fried bologna sandwiches I have ever had. made with Dewig Bologna. 

The Pork Tenderloin sandwich is as big as your head.

This is the GOULASH (Rindergulash) its one of my favorite dishes, Meaty Mushroom gravy over homemade spaetzle and if you go at lunch there is a smaller portion special

Another lunch special pork tenderloin salad, very good.

The Gerst Haus is located in a historic Evansville building that once housed a Grocery and a hardware store.

this was a spicy sausage I dont recal the name but it was good.

Pottery House Cafe and Grill at the Old Mill

After crawling through traffic to get to Pigeon Forge TN we stopped at the Old Mill Pottery Barn cafe and found peace, good food, and happiness.

This is the Strawberry salad with a basket of fresh bread. We asked for some of the cinnamon bread and the waitress brought it and it was all so good.

We went with the Praline Pecan pork chops and were very happy with this choice also.

I wanted dessert but we resisted this time.

Spotlight Bakery Dollywood

There are some tempting choices at the Dollywood Spotlight Bakery in Pigeon Forge TN. The apple pie looks good but at $19 dollars a slice I could not justify buying it.

We went with the Cherry Cheese danish and a Chocolate Brownie. They were ok but I think I will try something else next time.

We had a great time at the park and here is the 100 plus year old coal steam train at Dollwood.

Granny Ogle's Ham 'n' Beans at Dollywood

On a recent trip to Dollywood we tried Granny Ogle's Ham 'n' Beans. We had a good meal for not much money and there was a show next door for us to watch.

This is the Pot roast served with Cole Slaw and Beans the meat was good and juicy

Here is the Cornbread Salad that I ordered and I was happy with my choice. I like the cornbread on this instead of the skillet cornbread, I think I tasted some garlic in these.

The cornbread that comes with the meal, nothing to write home about.
